  1. Rim a tall glass: run the lemon wedge around the lip, then roll the rim in a mix of celery salt and black pepper.
  2. Fill the glass with ice — ideally one large cube, otherwise a generous pour of regular ice.
  3. Add vodka, Bloody Mary mix, hot sauce, and horseradish (if using). Stir 10 times with a long spoon to combine without breaking up the texture.
  4. Garnish with the pickle spear, celery stalk, and lemon wedge. Serve immediately.

Half the Bloody Marys served in America are served wrong. They're too thin, over-iced, and served with a tiny stick of celery nobody wants. This version is deliberately the opposite: big ice, thick mix, garnish you can actually eat.
