- Rim a tall glass: run the lemon wedge around the lip, then roll the rim in a mix of celery salt and black pepper.
- Fill the glass with ice — ideally one large cube, otherwise a generous pour of regular ice.
- Add vodka, Bloody Mary mix, hot sauce, and horseradish (if using). Stir 10 times with a long spoon to combine without breaking up the texture.
- Garnish with the pickle spear, celery stalk, and lemon wedge. Serve immediately.
Half the Bloody Marys served in America are served wrong. They're too thin, over-iced, and served with a tiny stick of celery nobody wants. This version is deliberately the opposite: big ice, thick mix, garnish you can actually eat.
